Julian Alps Retreat 3 days

Day 1: Arrival to Ljubljana. After pickup and introduction we start our way up north on the scenic road via mountain pass of Vršič where we make some stops and get the first glimpse of the Julian Alps. We proceed to the Trenta valley and stop on the spots over the emerald Soča river.  In the afternoon we arrive to the Mangart saddle hut (1906m/6253.ft). In the afternoon we explore the ridges  around the hut and have our first outdoor adventure photography class. In the evening we photograph sunset from one of the many locations around the hut. We have a warm dinner in the hut where we stay overnight. In case the weather is clear, we can try to capture the milky way.

Hike takes approx. 3 hours. From the top we will enjoy the sunrise and  the beauty of the Julian Alps as well as the views over to Italy and Austria. Descend back to the hut. Lunch and some relax after hike, talking about the photography, critiques of the taken photographs and other themes. In the evening, we climb to a steep ridge for the sunset photo experience. Returning down to the saddle and after dinner, there will be some time for some astro photography.
